At Hoosier Hear Gear, we are committed to providing professional services in a caring, compassionate manner. We pride ourselves on the services we provide and personally identify with our commitment to excellence.
I had a great experience in graduate school at Auburn University. Most alums “gush” about their alma maters. I suppose I fall into that category as well. My clinical instructors were not only outstanding teachers, but also passionate about students, patients, audiology, and the university. That passion and vision for a better model audiology career emphasized competent, autonomous, and progressive care as a member of the healthcare team.
Some of you may be familiar with the Auburn Creed. I like to read to read it from time to time. It reminds me of the wonderful mentors I had there. It reminds me of the community of people who identify with Auburn and all that it represents. It serves as a great framework for commitment to service and excellence today. It was written by George Petrie. Dr. Petrie was Dean of the graduate school at Auburn and its first football coach.
Auburn Creed
- I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work.
- I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully.
- I believe in honestly and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.
- I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body, and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.
- I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all.
- I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.
- I believe in my country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my home, and that I can best serve that country by “doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God.”
- And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.
